Finding Hope and Home in New Jersey

The Inaugural parties have begun. In two days we will have a new president, one who has become an icon for hope and change in the United States. Every president brings hope with them to the office. It is required. But some need more help than others because of circumstances beyond their control.

Are circumstances out of control for our soon-to-be-president Barack Obama? He faces wars on two fronts, economic uncertainty, catastrophic job losses, and financial bailouts of the mortgage, finance and auto industries. What could be next? Is it his responsibility to fix it all?

I don't believe so. I do believe that it is the government's responsibility to protect its citizens and in this case that does include helping average consumers work through a financial situation like they have never seen before. But aside from that, it is up to us to see ourselves through this cycle. How do we do that?

We help ourselves survive in this climate by staying positive, working hard and making wise investments. You can't make a better investment than the investment you make in your home. Your home protects you and your family, brings you comfort and respite and is the place you go to for love and warmth.

When all is crazy around us we can still find peace at home. To help us, I am making over this blog for 2009. It will be dedicated to the communities we share in and around Trenton and East Hamilton New Jersey. My goal is to share the joy of our towns with you. Together, we will discover why we call our own piece of New Jersey home.
